It's been quite some time since I've updated my site. As sometimes happens, real life interrupted internet life.
I have read the numerous entries in my guest book, and I'm truly delighted by and grateful for your comments. Thank you all so much!
I recently added a simple Single Braided Half-Up to the Half-Ups page, and today I added a French Herringbone Braid to the Braid page.
I've been maintaining APL length hair for the last year and a half to rid my hair of damage. To those who don't know, APL is short for the rather unglamourous-sounding Armpit Length.
I am back to growing now, so this will give me an opportunity to show the varous styles that we can go through along the way to our goals.
To Kati/Goldberry, I wish to thank you for taking the time to tell your story. I really enjoy hearing cultural stories about long hair on women or men. I agree that long hair is something to be prized. I think that long hair on an older woman also represents wisdom gained over the years. I hope to have hair as long as it will grow for all my days.
HappyLynnGilmer, I was delighted to read your comments. I'm glad you found my site, and I'll be looking forward to seeing some photos of some new styles that you try.
Thank you, Koala Kim. I very happy that you've enjoyed the site.
Emma Woo, I'm always so happy to hear that I've provided even a bit of inspiration to someone. I hope that your CO experiment has been as successful for you as it's been for me.
Pip, pip, HubbyG, and thank you for stopping by.
Jessie58, Thank you for the kind words. I would be all too happy to show styles of curly hair. Alas, I don't have any curly-haired long-haired people to work on. You know of a hair model, you say? Please, send her over any time.
Thank you for the compliments and kind wishes, helpmegro! If I can ever get my act together, I will be posting instructions, hopefully in video form for some of the styles. Thank you for reminding me.
I've added a French 4 strand box braid halfup to the Half-ups page. I included a closeup of the braid, because I think box braids are particularly interesting. Enjoy!
I see I've had a few visitors who've left notes in the guest book. I'll be saying hello to all of you tomorrow, when I have the time to do it properly.
Next, I'll be posting a new updo. That will be in a day or two.
Today I added my length updates to the "Progress Photos" page. It's only been two months since my cut, so there's not much noticeable length as yet. Also, I didn't take the photos from the same angle as I did in the last ones, so again, any new length is hard to see. I hope that in my next update in October there is some noticeable growth.
I had some thank yous that I wanted to send out today, but I can't seem to get to my guest book. Hopefully I'll be able to do so tomorrow.
Today I added a new ponytail to the Everyday Flair page. It's simply a ponytail flipped over and through the ponytail holder in a diagonal fashion. It only takes about 10 seconds longer than a regular ponytail, but it looks unusual and different.
I've added a Lace-Braided Half-Up to the "Halfups" section. I really like this style, as it really keeps all of the hair out of my face. It looks like I'm wearing a braid hairband. I hope you like it.
Thank you so much, Indigo Girl for dropping by and taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. You are one of my hair inspirations, so your comments mean a lot. I'm looking forward to the day that my hair is as long as yours is!
Sundin13, I'm delighted that you stopped by. Yes, long hair is lots of fun indeed. I'm looking forward to having hair as long as yours. I'm a big fan of your hair, as you may know. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and leave a message. I'm happy that you like the site.
It's wonderful to see you Viviane. Your kind words made my day and had me all ablush.
Well,.....crazy Seamus followed me, and he caught me in the fog. He said, "I'll get you conditioner, if you take Jack my dog." I said, "Wait a minute, Seamus. I'm just Stylin' Fran.. He said "That's okay, girl, won't you braid him when you can?"
