too faced shadow insurance eye shadow primer ($20)
I have been cursed with an bothersome curse — oily eyelids. This generally makes it impossible for my eye shadows to look the same at the end of the day as they look when I put them on, and who wants to spend precious time blending away till your arm falls off when you know it’s just going to look like you sprayed Pam all over your eyelids a couple of hours later!

Eye shadow primers to the rescue! too faced shadow insurance is what’s on trial today.

I am so delighted with this primer! It pretty much does just what it’s meant to do, and I want to show you up close and personal.

For this test, I only applied the primer to one eye, and then I left my makeup on as long as I could stand it, which ended up being about 8 hours.

I don’t really notice a difference in how my eye shadows apply with this primer. They go on exactly the same as they do when I’m not using primer at all. Sometimes, with some primers, your shadows can go on a little smoother, or even often a little chunkier, but that’s not the case with shadow insurance for me.

(In the Spongebob Squarepants narrator voice) 8 hours later..

On the eye with the primer, you can see that there is the teeny, tiniest amount of creasing. but overall, things have stayed where they’re meant to be.

8 hours later WITH primer (please excuse my dreadful shower room lighting!)

As you can see, when I don’t use the primer, things get nasty. My eyeshadow is all bunched up in my creases, and in some places it’s even worn away completely. even my eyeliner and my false lashes are slipping around all over the place. It’s a hot mess.

My overall thoughts on too faced shadow insurance are that it’s great! It makes a big and evident difference in the way my eye shadow looks after a long day, which is much appreciated. My shadows don’t look exactly the same as they do ideal after I apply them, but it makes a world of difference.

Do any of you have the same issue with oily eyelids that I do? What eye primer do you love?
