This is the last of my catch-up articles for job Pan. I’ll be back in sync next Monday.

Today I’m taking a better look at an product that has made a few appearances on the blog before however never had its own limelight – the Guerlain Rouge G lipstick in 06 Garance:

While I like some higher end makeup brands, I’m by no indicates into “designer” makeup brands.  I don’t own any type of “signature” lipsticks from the likes of YSL, Chanel, Dior… the Guerlain Rouge G is the most costly lipstick I own (I likewise have one more shade, #863 Provocative, a restricted edition from 2013 in a black tube) as well as it expense me C$52 back in 2013 for this. They now retail for C$59 for 3.5g of product.

Firstly, the packaging.  This is truly what you’re paying for when you shell out $59 for a lipstick. It is sensational as well as the very first time I held it, I shed a bit tear. I’ve heard of the tube referred to as a “space coffin” design:

This thing is near impossible to photograph! Here’s the official marketing picture which was a lot of absolutely produced with the assist of CGI!
The lid of the lipstick tube homes a mirror. It’s as if Guerlain integrated a routine lipstick tube as well as one of those lipstick situations that you can discover for $2 in Chinatown:

Source.
But in a much sleeker packaging of program – it even has a magnetic closure!

The weight of the lipstick tube requires warming up of the bicep as well as forearm muscles before attempting to lift it. Honestly, I don’t understand exactly how bit old women even bring this lipstick around in their purses?

And that gets me to a major unfavorable with this product. Although the lipstick situation is fantastic with the mirror – it’s so dang heavy as well as bulky that I truly detest carrying it around, never mind trying to bring it with me for special events when I have a small clutch. There were so lots of times I selected one more lipstick just since I didn’t want to offer with the packaging.

I’m using Nicole by OPI “Sing You like A Bee” on my nails right here – evaluation to come.
Guerlain explains the formula of Rouge G as:

Lipstick is reinvented in an remarkable jewel with Rouge G, a subtle balance of intense colour as well as the comforting enjoyment of a creamy lip balm. Behind this wonderful development is an astounding formula: the special combination of ruby powder for spectacular radiance, hyaluronic acid balls for completely smoothed lips as well as wild mango butter for enduring hydration.

I agree, the formula is extremely simple to wear – it has a minor sheen as well as micro-shimmer as well as just a bit of slip, making it relatively long enduring formula (around 4 hrs). It feels comfortable on my lips – I don’t even requirement to wear a lip balm underneath.

I wouldn’t phone call the colour pay-off to be intense, I’d state it’s strong, however it doesn’t stain my lips nor is it opaque in one swipe. There is a soft vanilla scent to this lipstick however it’s barely detectable.

Garance is a extremely wearable MLBB type shade – I would explain it as a heated up mid-tone pink. It’s a near dupe to my cherished Elizabeth Arden Breathless.

The Guerlain Rouge G tube can’t stand upright on its own – so I improvised with the bit widget.
Here’s a comparison of Garance against other MLBB type lipsticks I have in my stock – I tried to pick out ones that I haven’t compared against Garance before:

• Rimmel enduring surface by Kate Lipstick in #45 – milkier, more beige, sheerer
• BITE appeal luminous Crème Lipstick in Musk – a lot more brown as well as creamier
• Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick in Garance
• Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien – browner, a lot more sheer
• metropolitan Decay transformation Lipstick in rush – rosier, a lot more opaque
• Shiseido best Rouge in Venetian increased RS711 – deeper, cooler, a lot more opaque

Fun fact: all of Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks have female names that begin with the letter “G”.  They are made in France.

Pros:
• special packaging
• comfortable cream formula
• lovely wearable colour
• long wearing

Cons:
• Expensive
• troublesome packaging

Stash worthiness: 8/10

Is this lipstick worth nearly $60?  Well kind of, generally for the packaging (which is likewise its downfall). The formula itself truly is charming as well as the colour fits me well, however objectively it’s not my much-loved lipstick formula Of. All. Time. (I like the formula of Shiseido best Rouge, BITE appeal luminous Crème, as well as MAC Amplified Crème more)  Subjectively, I would state this has to be one of my much-loved formulas since a lot more costly indicates better, right? I do cherish this lipstick – it is striking and special in my collection.

Hurrah, the weight of this lipstick went down! I’ve been using this non-stop at work as well as my coworkers keep asking me what this shiny metal thing is on my desk (I requirement to keep it in sight or else I fail to remember to utilize it).  And to show exactly how large the packaging is – right here it is with the cap on – a lot more than double the weight:

I’ve observed the weight of a couple of other products going down as well – the KATE Stick Concealer, the Body shop foundation, as well as a lot of interesting of all; the MAC eye shadow quad!
